You cannot work in an environment where not only you get mentally abused my clients and donors, but also your managers who claim to have your back. Everyone quits on average during their training week or within the first month or two.

Just ask them what their turnover rate is for their employees. And if you’re a supervisor, imagine balancing your own numbers and helping your struggling team. They do little to nothing to support you if you’re struggling. One day they’ll be like we have your back you can tell us anything! And then the next day when you do tell them things, they choose not to believe you at all, listen to people they shouldn’t (based on their track records) and fire you without notice and without any reason at all. Super unprofessional because they’ll ask you to skip school to pick up shifts. They teach you to manipulate and put donors on the spot for their money. Most people here quit during their training period or in the first month. Ask Public Outreach what their turnover rate is for employees. Please save your energy and do not work here. it is a ruse!!! You will be sacrificing your morals, ethics, mental health, time, energy and for what? A cause that Public Outreach doesn't even care about. Please do not be fooled by the high wage and starting price. There is a lot of toxic positivity and that is encouraged by team leaders and upper management. Team leaders are confused and seem to not care for their overall appearance. Plenty of people who work here are in constant worry for their sales goals and if you don't make them you are shamed and sometimes fired, without reason. There is no job security in the work environment and a general lack of care from management. This job essentially asks you to bully, emotionally manipulate and put people on the spot with triggering information e.g suicide and mental health issues. This is a business with the aim to make money, they do not care about the causes they raise funds for. Honestly only join this job if you have nothing but time on your hands, you’re good at manipulating people, and/or you want more stress in your life. This job is also not as flexible as they may lead you to believe, if you are a student you may have to work on days when you need to attend school bc they couldn’t find any other day for you to work or you need to make up hours from the last week. This means everyone is donor hungry and bc it’s the job, we need to coax broke people into donating monthly so that we don’t lose our jobs. There is practically no job security and everyone is worried about meeting their goals, else they get fired. Bc your whole job is to coax people into donating, they are experts at coaxing you into what you think of the company, other co-workers, really anything that will leave a stain, and tell on you.
